Ella Bella Photography Backdrop Paper - Rustic Wood Design, 48" x 12' Roll - Perfect for Portrait, Newborn, and Product Photography Backgrounds

I agonized over this purchase- I simply didn't have a lot of money to shell out and I've long been anti backgrounds and pro organic photos, so I just didn't know what to expect. I read nearly all the reviews, and still was on the fence. However, at the end of the day, for the price I figured I really had nothing to lose and would find a way to use it no matter how it turned up.This item arrived at my home in a very large box much too large for the small wrapping paper sized roll inside. However, I don't think this is what caused the nasty crease down the middle several other reviewers have noted (which mind had.) Perhaps these were stacked and crushed at an Amazon wearhouse? It's a shame because, for larger images and portraits this isn't practical. It would never lay flat with the damage/crease, therefor, it wouldn't be as flawless a visual effect for close or sharp photographing.So, what should you expect? Well, probably a dented roll, sad to say. Outside of that, this is a very convenient roll to travel will as it is so lightweight. It has held up great with the clips on my backdrop rig with no tears or holes over the past month. I keep expecting a cat to go flying through it but so good so far. And, even then there's plenty of room to pull it down to a fresh point of view. Does it work for my needs? Yes. I've gotten several compliments on it and feel it is an excellent addition to any home or beginner photographer's arsenal.Hopefully my photos help anyone on the fence :)UPDATE: It's been over 6 months and I am still using the same roll. I have a cat int he house, so I've had to roll to 'fresher' background from time to time, but I still have some length left. It really holds up well if you take care of it. I also wanted to add several friends have invested in this after seeing it in my studio space, and they are just as happy with the buy.I was really hesitant on buying this, but I'm so happy I did!! Currently I am traveling to clients homes to do indoor photography, because this is just a hobby for me, and I don't have the space to set up a studio. I prefer outdoor photography but I had three baby's that I need to do, and Winter in Michigan doesn't make that so easy. It was really nice not having to load all of my equipment for 3 different shoots last weekend. I taped it to the wall, set up my lights and BAM we where ready to go. I did three shoots, and have one small rip that will not be noticeable when I tape it. The box it came in works great for storage and I will be able to fit a couple more in with it. I do plan to find some type of tube or something to make wrapping it up easier. Well worth the money with a little care i'm sure this will last me awhile.I decided to purchase this backdrop because I have recently made a transition to portrait photography and I was curious about the quality of a paper backdrop. I must admit that when I first got it I was a little concerned because of how thin the paper was. I the decided that I was going to glue it to a free wall in my studio. Today I decided to clamp it to my black cloth backdrop that I had hanging on my backdrop stand using the black backdrop as a backing.I shot 4 sets of headshots and three-quarter portraits of my daughter. The results were amazing. These images alone are worth what I paid for it. That being said, once rolled back up the backdrop is in just as good a shape as when I got it. I am very pleased with it and I look forward to trying out more paper backdrops in the near future. NOTE: It is a thin paper so it does need to be handled with care.Excellent backdrop! I own a clothing boutique but do most of my business via my online shop. This makes for an excellent backdrop to my photos, so much more interesting than a white backdrop, and much easier to take great photos with without dealing with color temperatures, white balance, weird shadows and lighting. With my white backdrop and umbrella lights, I was still having to extremely edit my photos, with white balance, and lighting tools, and still wasn't getting a uniform look with every photo. I will note I am a very amateur photographer.With this backdrop (I just hung it on the wall with painter's tape) in combination with my four umbrella lights, my photos aren't muddy looking, and everything looks so much better and the clothing pops. My photos definitely look more professional, which is good because my shop is a higher end boutique. It's pretty much like heavy wrapping paper, but in photos, it looks very close to real wood. My friends thought I was standing in front of a wood wall. Definitely recommended.I got this photography backdrop to use when taking photos of products for my blog and reviewing. I also use it to take cute photos of my 3 month old.This is just like a giant roll of paper but a little more durable. I do like that it any of the part that I'm using at the time gets damaged I can just cut it off. However I do wish it was easier to roll up, it comes just like a big poster would and doesn't have a tube or anything to help roll it up or to keep it from getting bend it half.I'd say for the price it's definitely worth it for someone like me who uses it just for simple photos but couldn't see a major photographer using this for any length of timeI've never used a paper background before and I was a little hesitant. But I'm so glad I went for it! This is great and looks fantastic. I was able to roll it back up and I should be able to use it much more than once!!Edit: after using this a few times - I would buy it again - BUT, I would not recommend it for older children or adults. It worked great with babies, but with toddlers+ running on it and adults walking on it, I had to toss it out because it got wrinkled and tore. I still got about four uses of it - so great value. And had I known that going in, maybe I could have taped it better or something to help it not be as destroyed. I would buy another paper background from this company though and would consider replacing this (only reason I wouldn't is it I decide to spend more and get real wood). Great to play around with though!Ovviamente per 5 euro nn si poteva chiedere di meglio. Per fotografarlo nn deve essere messo a fuoco ma sfocato, perché di suo nn è nitido e molto rumoroso. Serve solo per creare uno sfondo sfuocato o per altri usi come per esempio fare pacchi. Metto 2 stelle per il prezzo.Don't let the fact that's it's paper detour you from buying it. So far I have used it as a background for my products. I even used it to do a photoshoot with my 1 yr old. I find the size more suitable for people who don't have a studio. I ordered a bigger vinyl one which is nice but I don't have the space to set it up where as this one works just great. The moment I took it out of the 5 foot box which was/is plenty large enough, the roll was damaged. Bent, dented, not what you'd expect from this, right?I am conflicted on how many stars to give this. It's cheap, but you do get what you pay for. It's flimsy... Paper, and mine came with creases all through it. I give it 4 stars because honestly, for the price, what can you expect? But it lost a star because of the creases.
